Emily Chu is a classically-trained pianist and music teacher born and raised in Vancouver, BC, and based in New York City, New York. She is currently enrolled in the Evening Division Program at the Juilliard School of Music and is studying with Dr. Julie Jordan and Liz Huang. She has studied music previously with Winfried Rompf and Edward Parker at the British Columbia Conservatory of Music in Burnaby.
Emily has been playing the piano for over 20 years and has been teaching music for over 10 years. She holds an ARCT in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory and is currently working on an LRSM from the Associated Board.

Aside from her passion for piano, Emily is also a television writer/reporter. She is a graduate of Simon Fraser University in Burnaby with a degree in Communications. She hopes to diversify her talents and has plans to eventually work as a foreign correspondent. She is dividng her time between the east and west coast, after living in eastern Washington and having traveled extensively through Latin America, Southeast Asia, and other parts of the world.
